Maple BBQ sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 shallot finely chopped
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Mix all listed ingredients.

  • 100g Mustard

Directions

  • 2 cups of ketchup
  • ½ cup light or dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon peel
  • 6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice, or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoon smoked seasoning, such as Liquid Smoke (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients (including Liquid Smoke, if desired) in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until a thick sauce forms.
  3. Taste and add lemon juice as needed.
  4. Transfer the sauce to a clean bowl or jar and let cool to room temperature.
  5. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Coffee BBQ sauce

  • 2 cups of tomato sauce
  • 1 ½ cups of water
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of Coffee Granules
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon chipotle chilli powder

Directions

  1. Place the tomato sauce, water, vinegar, sugar, coffee beans, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and chipotle powder in a medium saucepan. Mix well.
  2. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.

  • 2 onions
  • 1 tablespoon chopped sweet paprika
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  • 1 cube of vegetable broth
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetarian Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Dissolve the vegetable broth cube in boiling water.

  • 2 avocados
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Chilli BBQ sauce

  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 450g ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup cooked refried kidney beans
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander

Directions

  1. In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat and sauté the onion, garlic and ground beef.
  2. Add the paprika, the hot pepper sauce, the salt and the cumin, mix and fry for approximately 3 minutes.
  3. Add tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, bbq sauce, and cooked beans, then mix well.
  4. Add the water and cook for 5 minutes or until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat, sprinkle with coriander and serve.

Chipotle Style BBQ sauce

  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup of tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup of pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 chipotle in a marinade
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in a large saucepan. Stir and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat to low and allow the sauce to cook, stirring occasionally, for 25-30 minutes or until thickened.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
  4. Transfer the sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use (1-week maximum).
