Bring a pot to medium heat with the olive oil and, once hot, add the tomatoes and onion cut into hulls.
Add a little garlic paste and season the cooking with salt and black pepper to taste.
Cover the mixture with water and add the tomato sauce, paprika, soy sauce and honey.
Let the barbecue sauce with honey cook for about 10-15 minutes and turn off the heat.
Dissolve the cornstarch with a little water and add it to the previous preparation. Let keep for 5 more minutes or until you notice that the barbecue sauce thickens and turns off the heat.
Empty the entire preparation into a bowl and let stand until it reaches room temperature. Once cool, process everything in a blender. Ideally, you should end up with a thick sauce with a slightly smoky flavour. You can pass the result through a strainer or if you prefer you can leave it as it is.
