1 teaspoon Perrins or Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Directions
In a saucepan over medium heat, add the soy sauce, orange juice, sugar, ketchup, vinegar and Perrins sauce. Stir well and watch so it doesn’t stick.
Meanwhile, dilute the cornmeal in the water until there are no lumps, and when the contents of the saucepan begin to boil, add this mixture.
Stir for a few minutes until you see it thicken. If it thickens too much add a little water, and if on the contrary, it is getting too liquid for your liking, leave it on the fire so that it reduces more or dilute more cornmeal in water and add it.
Taste it and correct the point of salt, either by adding salt, or even soy sauce. Also, adjust the sugar or vinegar, so it’s to your liking.
