Sweet and Spicy BBQ
Ingredients
2 cups (480 ml) ketchup
1 cup (240 ml) blackstrap molasses
½ cup (120 ml) white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1 small yellow onion (70 g) diced
2 cloves of garlic without skin
½ teaspoon ground allspice
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and simmer until molasses dissolves into the sauce. Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes.
Place all ingredients in the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
Start the mixer at the lowest speed, then quickly increase to high speed, using the tamper to push ingredients into the blades.
Blend for 30 seconds or until ingredients are combined.
